“With musical performances and sound installations the museum became pleasantly noisy.” NRC Handelsblad

“The night makes clear that sound art deserves a place in the museum.” Kindamuzik

On Thursday 28 April Stedelijk Museum and Non-fiction organised Hear it! – a playlist for the Stedelijk Museum. A three-and-a-half-hour stream of performances, installations and works from the museum’s collection.

With contributions by CM von Hausswolff, Paul Panhuysen, Alog, Claron McFadden, Brandon LaBelle, Gabriel Lester, Sarah van Sonsbeeck, Hans Aarsman, Gert-Jan Prins, Mark Bain, Aardvarck, Nathalie Bruys, Allard van Hoorn, Schola Cantorum Amsterdam and Harold Schellinx. With works by John Cage, La Monte Young and Dick Raaymakers.

Close to 500 people visited the event and transformed the Stedelijk Museum into a vibrant podium. VPRO Dorst, the junior innovation platform of Dutch public broadcaster VPRO, liveblogged the event.
