We are delighted to announce that we are a partner of PICNIC Festival 2011! PICNIC Festival is an annual three-day event that blurs the lines between creativity, science, technology and business to explore new solutions in the spirit of co-creation. This year’s theme is Urban Futures, with a focus on sustainability, infrastructure, society, design and media. PICNIC Festival 2011 takes place from 14 to 16 September at NDSM Wharf in Amsterdam.
On Thursday 15 September, Non-fiction will host theanycitywhatever, a festival-within-the-festival. The anycitywhatever is a picnic table with local, regional and postnational protagonists of urban futurism. The mission of this 3 hour talkshow is to find out how networked technologies are changing the way we understand, build and inhabit cities. Guests are amongst others Adam Greenfield (Urbanscale), Nicola Villa (Cisco), Euro Beinat (CurrentCity), Michelle Kasprzak (V2) and many more. theanycitywhatever is organized in collaboration with Stad-Forum, Amsterdams Innovatie Motor, Dienst Ruimtelijke Ordening of Amsterdam, and VURB. It will be hosted by Non-fiction’s Juha van ‘t Zelfde and seminal futurist and WIRED UK editor-at-large Ben Hammersley.
