About Non-fiction

Non-fiction is an office for cultural innovation, working in and beyond the domains of the arts, heritage and urban planning. We are skilled critical enthusiasts connecting people, institutions and ideas. From existing and emerging cultures and technologies we create new social environments for an ever-changing world. We make exhibitions, (re-)activate spaces, consult organizations, publish books and organize events.

We work for and with a growing number of public institutions, museums, universities, design agencies, cities, real estate developers, artists, architects and musicians. Amongst them are the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ, Ives Ensemble, Stadsherstel, Oude Kerk, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten, the City of Amsterdam, UNESCO World Heritage Center, The Rijnland District Water Control Board, Museum De Hallen Haarlem, Castrum Peregrini, The Rembrandt House Museum, Amsterdam Museum, Het Nieuwe Instituut, Bits of Freedom and Netherlands Institute of Cultural Heritage. We operate within an extensive international network of innovative organizations and individuals.

We connect past and future, off- and online.

In addition to our daily practice, we initiate unsolicited research projects, such as Failed Architecture, Ja Ja Ja Nee Nee Nee and Tussen-ruimte.
