We had a ball..

After attending the pre-pre-opening of the Hermitage branch in Amsterdam we are completely overwhelmed by the splendour and sheer size of this new cultural icon. We congratulate our friends at the museum and urge everyone to go and take a look yourself. This is what Amsterdam has been waiting for (too long)..

Make sure to look for the interior shots of the Winter Palace (now Hermitage), that were taken right after the Communists ravaged and looted the Tsar’s living quarters back in 1917. Brutal. And next saturday they are screening Alexander Sokurov‘s Russian Ark. Probably one of the most intriguing movies ever made, which was shot (90 minutes uncut!) at.. the State Hermitage in St. Petersburg. It starts at 1 pm on June 20.
